OK, not the toughest question. Spalding instead of Wilson.

The seller said it came from a missed kick at the Big Sombrero in Tampa in 1979. I'm not sure I believe that. But it is unusual, isn't it? Can anyone explain how Spalding came to produce a ball that's virtually identical to the official Wilson balls? Thanks for info.

Ha, I almost bid on this when it was at $9.99, just because it was so weird. I couldn't find anything in my cursory research as to why TB would be using Spalding balls instead of Wilson, so my only guess is that it might be a sample from Spalding that somehow made it to the field (or not...).
