Where is the Game Used Price Guide???

I am tire of people thinking just because it's game used they have a diamond. Example: Let say I want a Bill Spiers game used bat. I will get 3 responces and 1 will always want a crazy amount for a common players bat. I had a guy tell me he wanted $450 for a Bengie Molina bat. Am I the only guy that feel this way

The price is whatever someone is willing to pay, it's not set in stone. If they won't negotiate and you aren't willing to pay their price then simply walk away.

I really disagree with this perspective. While of course you take considerations of how much you're willing to pay into any negotiations, price-ranges aren't hard to figure out. Like Beckett, which gives price ranges for cards, you can do the same thing for bats, gloves, cleats, etc.

I've found that those who say the price is what anybody is willing to pay often are looking to fleece buyers. Well, pay $1,000 for a pair of semi-star spikes, because they are so rare. Or this player only played in the Big Leagues for six months, so he ordered very few bats, and hence, you'll never see one again.

I'm sure most of us know the games that sellers like to play to get the most profit out of an item. Putting together a price guide isn't hard.

You are correct in this assessment. I saw a pair of Michael Robinson (Who? If you are not a Penn State fan or alum, that would be the correct answer) game worn playoff cleats for $1200, signed on ebay (I think they are still there). Not to be accused of being a tire kicker, I wrote the seller and stated I could get a more quality, but comparable position NFL player such as Mewelde Moore (who has also won two Super Bowls) cleats for less than half the price. I also offered him that I got a pair of NFL game worn Paul Posluszny for dang near a third of his price, and he is comparable to Robinson's Penn State accomplishments.

At the end of the day, he came back at me with a $600 price...which is still laughable and twice (even to a Penn State fan) what they are worth. I walked away, and there they sit.

I give credit that he tried to work with me by cutting his tripled over priced cleats in half, but he was still charging double what a reasonable person with any kind of knowledge would pay. Again, he thinks they are gold because they are rare, and playoff worn no less. But as I told him in my thanks but no thanks response, these are not Marshawn Lynch's playoff cleats, but you sure have them priced like they are!

As a newbie I am a little bit surprised that it is hard to find prices on game used. Am I missing something or does such publication exist? If not, are there any good resources to work with. If not, I know I can trust you guys in here 100%.
    As always, thanks!!
