Odd Majestic tag?

i've come across a variation of the body tag used by Majestic from 1996-1999. i have no clue what it really is; i'm unsure if Majestic made the slight variation to put on retail jerseys or if the tag is a knockoff/counterfeit or if it's entirely legit and Majestic used them both on gamers. (there are subtle differences as well; the mlb logo is different in the 2 versions and even the sewing on the Majestic logo is different). here's what i'm talking about:



on the left are two examples of the odd Majestic tag i'm referring to. on the right is the Majestic tag most often seen on 1996-1999 gamers.
the ones on the left don't say "made in usa", the "ball diamond" image is different, and most notable, the marquee says "authentic" instead of "diamond". does anyone have any sort of insight into this odd little variation?
