PHOTOMATCHING Experts Help - Possible Match- McGwire GU HAT

I Obtained this hat a few years ago.*
It is sweat soaked on outer hat and stained inside.*
Has a gorgeous Auto on inside brim along with*
"Two - Five" written out. Hat size matches the size he wore. It is from either
95-96-or 97. While looking over some cards I found a hat he was wearing on
A 97 Donruss card. If we assume the photo used goes along with the trend of using pictures from the previous season , then it would make the photo from the card from 96. Or if it was a mid season release the picture on the card could be from 97.*

Just remember there will be visual distance discrepancy when comparing a hat on a card to a hat in person and I have taken that into account.*

On MY hat there is a piece of the green fabric missing on the top brim . You can see it in the pictures below. On the Donruss card there appears to be a similar piece missing in the same area of the hat. Now the dimensions are hard to calculate as the picture on the card and then viewing the hat in person, the white missing piece could seem farther then it actually is from directly underneath the jagged point in the base of the letter "A".

The hat on the Donruss card , the spot appears to be closer to the *bottom of the "A" if your directly scroll underneath it,*
as the distance from *directly underneath the *jagged point "A" to end of the of bottom brim looks long , but this view of the hat closeup shows *the distance from directly under the bottom of the jagged tip of the A to end of the vertical stitch seem from the hat is closer then as it appears on the card. The distances on the card look farther then what they truly are as your viewing a hat on a card compared with a hat in real life will have visual distance discrepancy.


Here are the pictures , I think the odds are hard for their to be multiple hats with the same missing piece of fabric in the same facility of mine.*
Please give me your thoughts on a possible match.*

Here is the hat flat with no bend. Notice how much closer it looks towards the Base of the jagged point in the "A" if you scroll directly underneath point to brim

This my friend is a tricky one.

Ive looked at it from a million different angles and its hard because the angle they took the picture of big mc at is slightly different than any picture you took. Also the hat looks fresh out of the box on his head and the front part with the logo is standing traight up, and not tilited back like you have it shown.

If you count the stitchings on the bill you can see there are 8 of them and the missing piece is in between 5 and 6. Im not claiming to be able to count these stitchings on this tough angle but it looks like its in a different spot than on your hat.


On the front of the hat under the A the it looks like it comes to a small peak near the bill of the hat and i dont see that on yours, but it could be from wear.

I wouldnt call it a for sure match, but Its hard to imagine big mac having another hat from this time frame with this exact piece of fabric missing in around the same area.

thanks for the input. Like you said, regardless it's a game used hat & Mac's Caps are insanely hard to find, a real one as i have seen many fakes as im sure this hat was personally signed and then given away.
Just would have thought a photomatched card would be cool.
