    Question about shipping

    I am going to ship two huge frames from NY to California,which is the best/cheap shipping service to use? Thanks all.

    It depends on how large, but the most economical way to
    ship something large, safely is UPS Ground. It has tracking and
    $100 insurance at no additional cost. I'm sure FedEx Ground is
    comparable but I never used them.

    I'd agree with gnishiyama...probably UPS or FedEx would be the cheapest option.

    Make sure you pack them well. Everyone else is shipping their large/heavy items with these carriers as well. I've had a number of UPS packages beat to shit when they arrive.

    Use a measuring tape to get the dimensions, then weigh the frames on a scale. Call UPS, FedEx, etc. and they should be able to give a quote over the phone (have both zip codes handy). What often gets decided is that the jersey, or whatever is inside the frame, gets taken out and shipped frame-less. Unless these frames are really nice and expensive, they may not be worth shipping them at all.

    I've also heard of people using cross-country freight trucking companies for really large items (arcade games, engines, etc.), but I'm not sure how that works.
