Merritt Ranew who caught for the Cubs, Braves & Pilots (among others), passed away recently at the age of 73.....His best season was 1964 when he hit .338 for the Cubs & lead the NL in pinch hits, but also many remember him from being part of the 1969 Seattle Pilots and being included in Jim Bouton's "Ball Four."
