Former Cubs, Phillies SS Roy Smalley Jr. Passes
Roy Smalley, Jr. who played primarily as a short-stop for the Cubs, Braves & Phillies (1948-158) recently passed away at the age of 85.
Many fans also recognize him as the father of former Twins & Yankee MLB infielder, Roy Smalley III

Smalley hit well for a shortstop, but had a less than stellar throwing arm.

In the 1950s in Chicago, his erratic throws caused writers to dub the Cubs infield as "Miksis to Smalley to Addison Street).
Fans will miss you, Roy.
