Steelers jersey - help needed
I know nothing about game used Steelers equipment, so I am hoping a knowledgeable collector can give me a thumbs up or thumbs down on this jersey.

I hope this guy is not insinuating that this was actually worn by Mel, considering he RETIRED in 1983 and was inducted into the HOF in '89! Unless this was worn at some kind of "reunion" game, I would stay far, far away.

WTH? Like Mel would have worn a 52 long anyway as a CB..... rule of thumb: almost every Steeler jersey you see on ebay has problems so assume from the outset that it is fake, and work backwards from there. Occasionally, you will see a real Santonio Holmes jersey, but that's about it.

The other posters are correct Steelers gamers almost never hit the market let alone ebay. However, in addition to Holmes, Hines Ward, Medwele Moore, Ryan Clark and Willie Parker have sold several of their gamers so there are a few modern steelers stuff out there. additionally, nfl auctions has sold a couple this season to the same bidder for crazy money.

There's an odd chance this could be an "event-worn" jersey.
