AFL Rising Stars Game - History and Auction?

I'm watching the AFL Rising Stars Game, and I have a couple of questions. What is the history of this game? Does MLB.com Auctions typically sell stuff from this game?

I think they started auctioning items from the afl last year. They have an auction starting tonight!

Anybody remember what the AFL Harper jersey went for last year? This year's edition is up to nearly $1600 after being on auction for only one day.

Now that MLB is grabbing everything they can, I'm sure other markets, what few there were, will dry up. I bought a Nokona bat and batting gloves that Chris Pettit of the Angels used in the '08 Rising Stars game, off eBay, shortly after that year's game, and at a reasonable price.
