Roger Clemons jersey tagging
I saw a highlight of Clemons yesterday of him coming up on the dugout steps to wave to the crowd with his jersey untucked. I saw it fast but I think the majestic authentic tags were gone.
havent been able to find a pic yet
anyone else see this? I know this topic has been discussed before

Re: Roger Clemons jersey tagging
Nice find...Also the video on the game at the Houston Astros website confirms the same - the tags have been removed...

Re: Roger Clemons jersey tagging
It has been widely known that since around 2003 or so, that Roger Clemens has torn the tags out of most if not all the jerseys that he wears. I do not know why, but this is the case. I am sure Chris Boyd can chime in with a better explanation and his practices with his Astros jerseys.

Re: Roger Clemons jersey tagging
I am not sure why, but I have owned 5 Clemens jerseys since 2004, and all but 2 did not have tags. The 2 that had tags showed light use, one was even a "6200" tagged. Here is a previous thred:

When I obtained my Clemens jersey after the 2004 season, it drove me nits for a while because it didn not have the tags. I spoke with Keith Vari and he confirmed Clemens traits of tag removal.
Let me know if you have any other questions on Clemens jerseys as I have done a ton of research!
Thanks,

Re: Roger Clemons jersey tagging
Joel is correct. I have not seen a Clemens jersey in a few years that I felt at all comfortable with that still had the tags on it. I'm not sure if the tags irritate him, if it's superstition (baseball players have had a lot of crazy superstitions - chicken anyone?), or what the reason is. But Clemens does not like the tags. Some players are very sensitive to jersey attributes (Pedro, Clemens, Henderson, etc.). The next time someone talks to Clemens (at a show, at a game, etc.), this would be a great question to ask him.
ReidAlways looking for top NBA game worn items of superstar and Hall-of-Fame-caliber players (especially Kobe, LeBron, MJ, Curry and Durant). Also looking for game worn items of all players from special events (e.g., All Star Game, NBA Finals, milestone games, etc.). Please contact me at gameusedequip2@hotmail.com. Thank you.

Who is Kevin Vari? Mr. Boyd do you still have any of the Clemens jerseys?

Re: Roger Clemons jersey tagging
In speaking to Keith Vari on this subject a while back, he told me that Clemens started removing the tagging after he reached 300 wins and 3000 strike outs. All the good jerseys I have seen seem to follow this time line.
