    Re: Josh Hamilton Holy Grail

On the Hamilton items at auction I emailed the source and got this reply. If you have followup question, email Matt directly. matt@mlbpaa.com He responded quickly.

    Joel-

The Hamilton items were used during the 2010 season unless otherwise noted. Josh is an exclusive client of ours and he gives us products from his locker. Because the items were not damaged (ie- cracked bat), they do not get authenticated at specific games. Therefore, they are all “player issued” items when MLB authenticates the signature.

I hope that gives you a little better information about the items.

    Thanks,

That price for a game issued glove is pretty crazy. Look at getty Hamilton doesnt use that style of glove in games

Not even in 2010? IMO, the leather on the webbing looked like it took a beating.

I agree it isn't the same style web he used. Here is a photo from 2010 that shows his webbing.

The webbing of the auctioned glove looks more like an infielders glove too.

I went through most of GettyImages' pictures of Hamilton fielding from 2007 to present, and there was not one conclusive example of him using a glove with the same webbing as in the auction. The Wilson A2000 is correct, as is Hambone #32. What just does not match up is the webbing.

I read or heard in an interview that Hamilton doesn't like the checkered/ 'H' webbing. He was saying how he always loved seeing guys with custom gloves and stuff embroidered, etc.

What do you guys think is a fair price for a game issued Hamilton glove with the correct webbing?

Maybe between $1,000 and $1,400. That's just a guess though.
