    2009 Louisville P72 M9 Knob Help

I recently aquired a 2009 louisville slugger M9 bat for a player that i have several other bats of his from taht year. Inspection of the bats show all the other m9 bat i have have the date the bat was made and the weight engraved in the handle. The new i got has four numbers and a v stamped in the knob. Does anyone know what this stands for?

V stands for vacuum dried... just a process that was used that was different than normal. The four numbers are the date. Because of an equipment malfunction, a date stamp was used for a few weeks during late summer before the laser process was revived. The code for this stamp was M/D/Y or M/DD/Y, so an 819 code would be August 1, 2009; an 8189 would be August 18, 2009.
