    Minneapolis Millers? hat question

I bought this hat from Otey Clark's estate last year. Finally getting around to doing some research on it. Otey played for the Minneapolis Millers from 1943-44 and 1949. He also played for the Moline Plow Boys in 1941. This hat must be from one of the two teams.

It looks close to the Millers logo but has some difference between the early 1940's logo as well as the late 1940's logo. Never seen a Plow Boys logo so I haven't a clue.

    Any thoughts?

Would love to hear from Chris Sexton on this.

My guess is that it would be a 1943-44 Millers hat from when the Millers were a AA team for the Red Sox (hat is Sox colors). The Millers were a AA team for the Giants during his second stint with them, when they wore black and orange.

Hi Bryan, I actually believe this a cap from the 1958-60 Minneapolis Millers team. I have one in my collection signed by a few Millers that I purchased from Calvin @ The Ball Park. The players signatures match up with guys from those teams. The Boston Red Sox were the major league squad. Hence why Yaz played in Minneapolis. I wonder if Otey was a coach?

            Hi Taylor,

I don't believe Otey was a coach. Is it possible the Millers used the same hat during the early 40's and late 50's? The logo (with the exception of the colors) did remain the same when they were affiliated with the Giants in the late 40's and early 50's.

I found these photos of Otey's jersey from 1943-44 (Otey played for Fort Worth in 1942). The M and colors match.
