    Re: Pete Rose Records

Hi George - Pete ordered a ton of bats during the 69-72 labeling period. He only ordered three models - S2, S222 AND G105 ( one order ).....all bats were 35" or 36" in length except for one 34" order in 72. Bats were typically Wide Grain and Flame Burned. There were 57 total orders of these bats during this period, so if you have specific questions, let me know.......I miss my Mattingly........Jim

    Re: Pete Rose Records

Hi George-- I see Jim just posted, but since I already have a reply written also, here is the same info :

    Hi ----

From 2/1/68 to 4/24/70 Rose was shipped only model S2 bats from H & B. These bats were generally 36 inches in length, although two orders were 35 inches in length. Weights were generally around 33 or 33.5 ounces.

From 4/29/70 to 11/1/72 almost all H & B bats shipped to Rose were model S222 (36 inches and 35 inches, with with one order of 34 inches). During that period there were two single orders of S2 (8/18/70 - All Star) and G105 (6/21/72).

Also, use the 'search forum' feature for a detailed forum discussion of Rose model S2 bats.

    Good Luck.
