well, I just purchased his Cardinals game used bat and I just wanted to check the records. It's a LS Genuine R205 model

Other than rare orders of I13 bats, Renteria ordered almost nothing but R205 bats during his time in St. Louis. Usually Gwynn finish or no finish, with just three orders for black bats in 2002. Always 34 inches and either 31 or 32 ounces. About half maple orders and half ash.

So he didn't order that many black bats?

Just three orders of 12 each, so 36 black bats total in 2002. The majority of his bats had the Gwynn finish (black barrel, natural handle) or no finish.

I just got the bat in the mail today and I wasn't even told about it but it came with a PSA/DNA authentication letter along with paperwork about the bat and it says that it's from 2002 so I guess it's 1 of the 36 black bats he ordered. Again thanks for your help,
