    Here's one:

The Detroit Tigers are the first team in MLB history to start a season 4-0 and not record a win by a starter.

    +1.

    Dave,

I am a big fan of trivia as well. While I don't have anything to contribute, I appreciate your and others' posts in this category.

    Re: Random crazy trivia fact

Although they lost to the Giants today, the Colorado Rockies set a new MLB record last night when they scored 17 runs on 20 hits - not a single Home Run.

I believe it is both the most runs scored without a HR as well as most hits without a HR.

I am not a bat guy, but I thought the bat guys might want to hear this...

During the Tigers game yesterday, the announcer was saying that Brennan Boesch was using a Prince Fielder bat because Prince gets better wood than Boesch can get when he orders his bats. Boesch used one of Prince's bats in spring training and fell in love with it. Boesch now orders his size bat with Prince Fielders name on it so he gets better quality wood for his bat.

Good to know. Fielder collectors: You better watch out for Prince bats used by Boesch.

As Hanley goes, so goes the Marlins...

Sunday, Hanley Ramirez had 4 hits in a game for the 13th time as a Marlin. Miami (Florida) is 13-0 in those games.

    Re: Random crazy trivia fact

In the last week of the 2011 regular season, Ryan Roberts, third baseman for the Diamondbacks, hit a walk-off, 11th-inning grand slam against the Dodgers - just the fourth player in MLB history to hit a walk-off grand slam in extra innings with his team down three runs. The others were Jason Giambi in '02, Roger Freed in '79, and Babe Ruth in 1925.

That grand slam also capped off an inning in which the Diamondbacks accomplished a unique comeback: no team has ever come back to win an extra inning game, when they were five runs down, with two outs and no one on base.

Tonight Justin Smoak scored the Mariners' 25,000th run in the fourth inning. Kyle Seager had gotten the M's 50,000th hit earlier that same inning.
