Shai Gilgeous-Alexander used the Thunder's victory over Minnesota to set a new record. In the game, SGA notched a triple-double, with 20 points, 20 rebounds and 10 assists.

This game performance made him the youngest player in NBA history to achieve a triple-double which included 20 or more rebounds. He bested Shaquille O'Neal by 74 days.

The Bulls' victory over the Wizards on Sunday has two notable results.

For starters, the victory ended the Bulls' 8-game losing streak.

The bigger deal, however, is that Washington's loss enabled the Milwaukee Bucks to become the first NBA team to clinch a playoff spot this season. This also sets a record for the earliest playoff berth clinching (2/23) since the current NBA playoff structure was established.

Sunday 3/8 was International Women's Day. The NHL celebrated by staffing the two national TV games...one in the USA and 1 in Canada...with all women in both the announcing booth and in the production crew. Both were historic firsts in NHL history.

Over time, there have been MLB games postponed or cancelled for unique and crazy reasons. Here's one from the World War 2 era.

    8/1/44

A doubleheader in Philadelphia with the Phillies hosting the Cubs was cancelled due to...here goes...a mass transit strike.

The strike was due to 9 black transit employees receiving promotions, followed by a few hundred white co-workers walking out.

The Phillies subsequently cancelled the twin-bill, citing the reason as potential civil unrest (the 1940s version of it.

While there were no actual riots, reports from news sources of the day mentioned a few dozen fistfights taking place all around Philly.
