On 12/30/20, Becky Hammon, in a Lakers/Spurs NBA game eventually won by Los Angeles, made history. When Spurs coach Gregg Popovich was eected after a rant to a ref about a bad call, Hammon took over for him. That made her the first woman to act as a head coach during a game, not only in the NBA, but in all of male professional American team sports.

Just as the late Buck O'Neil did with the Cubs in 1962, 29-year-old Bianca Smith will be doing in 2021. O'Neil became the first African-American to coach in MLB annals. Smith will be the first African-American female coach to take a coaching job in pro baseball. She will become a minor league coach in the Red Sox organization, mainly assisting players with their batting skills at the minor league complex in Fort Myers, FL.

Lebron James has, over 18 season, set or broke a number of NBA records. He broke a new one this past Friday against Memphis, although he's not likely to brag about this one.
Against Memphis, Lebron's 4th turnover of the game put him on top in terms of the NBA category of most career turnovers. That one was #4,525, putting him ahead of previous NBA all-time leader Karl Malone.
