OK, this bat isn't as exciting as some of the others, but I'm hoping to resurrect this thread. Here is a George Burns (Giant, not Indian, although I have no idea how that's been determined) Spalding bat. I showed it to Dave Bushing, and he really liked it (even wanted to buy it.) I guess it pre-dates a more polished spalding logo.

Re: Lets see some Pre WWI bats!!!

I missed this thread. Great to see it back. Here are a few of my treasures. I love 19th century/turn of the century hand made bats. To some people they are junk but I just love them. The bat on the bottom of the first pic is almost 3 inches in diameter at the barrel end. Always looking to add more to my collection so if you have any to part with please let me know. I will post some pics of some other early bats later (not as impressive as other shown).

DPM, Beautiful collection ! Thank you for sharing, always good to see gems like those.

Rob, AWESOME ! I never had one quite that old. I had one from the 1860s-70s era (didn't look like yours). I love that stuff.

Here are a few oldies that I had handy.

Picked this one up last week, one of my new favorites. Spalding Axletree ring bat in 100% original unaltered uncracked condition with just the right amount of use. They don't turn up looking like this too often. Enjoy !
