Ben Davidson, the longtime defensive star for the Oakland Raiders with the handlebar moustache, died Monday after battling prostate cancer. He was 72.

The 6-foot-8 Davidson was originally drafted by the New York Giants in 1961, but played that year as a Green Bay Packer, winning an NFL Championship there. He spent 1962-63 with the Redskins, then joined the Raiders, where he played for 8 years, and was part of the Super Bowl I team that lost to his former mates in Green Bay.
