RIP indeed. Very tragic story. He was a very good man.
I have a Hawks jersey of his from the early 1980s. He was the first NBA superstar I followed. Growing up in Atlanta in the late 70's/early 80's my heros were Danny Rounds, Dale Murphy, Steve Bartkowski and Herschel Walker.

I've always like Dan. A fellow Detroiter....A CMU Chippewa...and his cup of coffee with the Detroit Pistons. RIP Mr. Roundfield.

Re: Dan Roundfield Atlanta Hawk, dies Saving wife
He came to Nashville once, I believe for a charity event - it was either one for Riddick Bowe or one for RBI Nashville (Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities) - I'm pretty sure the latter - GREAT guy. REALLY nice when I met him and talked to him. Hate to see anyone die, but especially when you see someone who was a genuinely good person. And he lost his life to save his wife. Admirable and sad at the same time.
