Twitter to Verify Items

I was just wondering if anyone has had any success contacting players via Twitter to verify the authenticity of an item. I've sent four or five messages and received two responses (oddly enough, both only spoke Spanish). Just curious if anyone else has tried this?

For sure, plenty of times. I have even struck a few deals over Twitter directly with the ballplayer. That's the beauty of collecting "common" players, they don't have 1000 @ mentions a day to trawl through (if at all).

That definitely seems to be the case, probably not going to get too many responses from big name players. Anyone else?
