Votto 2012 bat, no powerized logo
In June 2012, Votto regularly used a bat that did not have "Powerized" above the customary Louisville Slugger logo. Is it just the appearance of the bat or was the bat manufactured absent that process?
How many such bats were ordered, and when?
Also, if it is not too much trouble, how many block letter bats did Votto order for the 2011 season before his signature model bats started?
Thanks in advance,
Dan

Dan, here's a post that answers part of your question about the missing "Powerized."

Re: Votto 2012 bat, no powerized logo
Brian:
It would still be very grateful to know how many (and when) Joey's non "Powerized" marked bats were born in 2012. Also, I would appreciate to know how many block letter Votto bats were ordered in 2011.
Recently, I purchased a Votto gamer which I will cherish forever (directly from the Reds). I'm enjoying to research its history and I've been confused by some May/June published photos and video which seem to contradict each other if the date of one of the photos is accurate.
The quantity of such bats with born on dates before May 17 may help help me to isolate each bat in photos and video and then have 100% confidence with researching my own bat's earliest uses.
Thanks
Dan
Jeff: thank you for teaching me about the reasoning for the absent "Powerized".
Thanks
Dan

Re: Votto 2012 bat, no powerized logo
We started taking the Powerized off of bats in ST.
All his bats from 2011 were blocked. All 140 of them.
His first order with his Autograph was placed on 2/23/2012.
His order from May 17th was a dozen.Brian Hillerich

I have a votto autographed label from 2011, so I checked and I noticed on Getty that Votto was using an autographed lousville slugger sept 3 2011.

I recall seeing several 2011 "Autograph" name plate Votto's offered by the Reds and private collectors

Typo on my part, it was 2/23/2011.

Re: Votto 2012 bat, no powerized logo
Hi Brian
Getting back to the original question(s):
My 2011 Block Letter Votto was born on 1/18/2011. How many 2011 Block Letter Votto's were made?
I'd be curious (if you have such among production data) for how many of Votto's 2012 bats did/did not contain the "Powerized" logo as well.
If either of these questions can't be answered, or require too much time/trouble, no big deal.
Thanks

Twenty Four.
As for the Powerized...no idea. I never wrote down when I told them to take it out of the branding plate. I should really write this stuff down when I do it. Never seems important at the time.Brian Hillerich
