    Fishy...

Gee, wonder if that "38" on the knob used to be some other number? I just don't get it...it's simply comical and destroys any potential value even if it wasn't used by Scutaro.

    Ok im confused whats fishy?

The seller states the number under the 38 was 49. And its possible in a lot of cases where baseball players use other players bats and not to get confused #38 wrote his number over the 49. This happens alot.

The fishy part that suave1477 was refering to I think was that in the original description there was no mention of the number 49 under the 38. That was added to the description after his post.

It looks like he changed the description. Whatever the reason, I'm glad a bidder now at least knows what they're buying.

not that it matters if you are looking for a scutaro bat but more likely 19, which was his other number with the A's, instead of 49 as the 9 is underlined, not to confuse it with 61. scutaro had some teammates who used 61 but never had a teammate using 38 during that labeling period. so no idea who used it. wonder who wanted to tryout the maple bat. it wasnt a teammate of his.

Actually thats not nesscarily true. This bat for all we know could of been from Spring Training and potentially someone could of had the #38 while at Spring Training
