John Havlicek, an all-time NBA great who played for many of the great Celtics teams in the 1960s and 70s, died on 4/25 at age 79.

The Celtics have decided to wear a memoriam patch on their jerseys for the remainder of the NBA Playoffs. As of my initial information, they haven't decided whether the patch will read "17" (his uniform number) or "HONDO" (his nickname.)

Ray Peters, A RHP who was in the Show for less than a week in 1970, died on May 4 at age 72.

Ray's appearances in MLB were limited to 2. both starts and both losses. Well-traveled in the minors before this, he was a 1st round pick in the 1969 secondary phase of the expansion draft by the Seattle Pilots, but never jointed their MLB active roster.
