    1996 Texas Rangers jersey question

I'm looking at some Rangers jerseys on gamewornuniforms.com, and I was a little confused about their Rangers jerseys. I was hoping someone on here would have some thoughts as gamewornuniforms apparently isn't going to respond to any of my emailed questions. They have 2 sets of Rangers jerseys that are labeled as being from 1996; one set is Wilson jerseys, and the other set is Russell jerseys. There are several duplicate numbers between the two manufacturers and in some cases multiple jerseys of the same number and same maker but different sizes.

This is a Russell which the seller indicates as Spring Training game worn.

This is one of the two Wilson number 31s (both different sizes). It is labeled as game worn.

Are these styles consistent with what the Rangers used in 1996? Did the Rangers use different makers for their uniforms between S.T. and the regular season? Shouldn't there be nameplates or other tagging/patches for a Rangers jersey of this timeframe? Why multiple sizes? Could these be jerseys from affiliates? I looked it up and there were several Rangers affiliates that carried the Rangers name though none seemed to be from Texas. Thanks in advance for any help you guys can provide.

Thumbs up Re: 1996 Texas Rangers jersey question

Both are not MLB-worn. All Rangers game jerseys (not BP, however) had NOBs in this era. The last time Wilson made any Texas threads was the 1986 road greys. Both suppliers used at least some year/number/etc. tagging when they supplied the MLB Rangers. These are likely minor league jerseys. Also, don't buy the "spring training" jersey tale. That's a catch all some in the hobby have when they have a nothing and want to believe it's a something.

Wayne is a friendly guy and decent person, but his lack of quality research has been mentioned before on this site by myself and others.

Thanks for the help. I know it isn't a ton of money, but I would have been quite upset had I bought one of these and then found out it wasn't what I had been looking for.
