Post Your 1980s Baseball Jerseys Here!

You gotta love the 1980s.... Pullover baseball jerseys. Bright colors and interesting color combinations. Tight uniforms. Material that is thick and nearly indestructible.

I love these shirts. Feel free to post pics of your 1980s baseball jerseys.

I'll get things started with a 1985 Minnesota Twins shirt I just picked up. It is all original, with the only alterations being a name and number change by the team. It was originally the number "33", worn by Mike Stenhouse in 1985 while playing first base and outfield. It was changed to "53" for spring training in 1986, when it was worn by pitching prospect Ramon Romero.

The Twins "updated" their uniform styles in 1987, ending the use of this style of jersey.

Awesome Mattingly! The tagging in those Yanks jerseys remained consistent for a loooonnnggg time. I no longer own this shirt, but here are pics of a 1982 Jerry Mumphrey.

Re: Post Your 1980s Baseball Jerseys Here!

I always liked the classy look of those Indians tops during the late 80s and early 90s.... And I remember Mel Hall being a Cleveland fan favorite during that time, usually playing left field.

Of course, Mike Morgan was a 22-year MLB pitching vet who only spent one year with the Orioles. Unfortunately, it was in 1988 when the club suffered through a humiliating 54-107 season. I was an Orioles fan back then, and was sad to see the team change their uniforms after that season. The orange jerseys and laughing bird logo disappeared, much to my chagrin. I believe the new uniforms from 1989 through the mid-90s were very ordinary and bland looking.

Here's a couple of pics of what is probably my favorite 1980s baseball jersey. This blue Rangers style is absolutely beautiful.... Tagged Set 1 1984 in the collar and manufactured by Wilson, this is a very early Steve Buechelle with the number 58. The dirty collar is a nice touch, and the rich colors still look as deep as when the shirt was new.
