Can anyone help me with this Ken Morrow Islanders jersey? I know very little about hockey game used equipment. I followed Morrow's career after his gold medal in 1980 and would love to have something like this for my collection - can someone help with the jersey and also the COA? Thanks in advance. Jim

"Accompanied by a LOA from Milt Byron of Byron's Hockeyland"...that is all you need!
Milt is probably one of the most respected men in the game-worn hockey business! Shoot him an e-mail...he's a great guy.

Byron is top notch. You can check out www.gameworn.net and also http://www.dropthepucks.com. Looks like a great jersey. Good luck.

Re: Need Help on Hockey Jersey
jim,
for what it's worth, i spent some time reading a hockey forum awhile ago. milt's expertise seemed to be held in the highest regard by those on the forum. you could say he's the jim caravello or mike specht of hockey jerseys.
at any rate, you could contact him just to make sure the letter, etc on the jersey is genuine.

Re: Need Help on Hockey Jersey
Thanks for everyone's replies - and Rudy - thanks for the kind comments! I will definitely contact him.
I am dating myself a bit here - but I was a senior in High School when we beat the Russians on that Friday night in 1980. One of my good friends had a party that night ( his parents were gone for the weekend ) and I'll never forget watching that game - every second of it. It was tape delayed - but we didn't know any better back then. To me - that was the best sporting event I have ever watched on the tube ( 86 Masters Final Round is a very close 2nd.....).
Morrow was a great member of that 1980 US team - and had a pretty successful run in the NHL. Most of you have seen the move "Miracle" - if you haven't, I highly recommend you do. You'll want to run a marathon - or climb a mountain after you see it.............
Thanks again for all the help - JimComment

Milt must've typed out the LOA . He is a notoriously bad speller.
His word is gold in the hobby.

Re: Need Help on Hockey Jersey
OK folks - I won the Morrow jersey. I have always wanted an early 80's Islanders game used jersey or a 1980 USA Olympic Team game used jersey ( probably would pay through the roof for that ). I know nothing about game used hockey jersey values - but the ending bid seems reasonable. Milton e-mailed me and confirmed the jersey and the COA - I am "pumped" to get it. Thanks for everyone's help and would love to hear whether I paid too much ( I really don't care ) or if I got a deal on it. Thanks, Jim

Re: Need Help on Hockey Jersey
This is a terrific deal on a jersey worn by an American hockey legend who won a gold medal and a Stanley Cup within about four months (then three more Cups!). And that's coming from a Rangers fan! Nice pick-up!Comment

Re: Need Help on Hockey Jersey
I'm familiar with the game worn hockey jersey market and I too think you got a good deal.
That game vs. the Russians in 1980 is, I believe, the single greatest game in the history of American sports. I've seen some of my favorite teams win their respective league championships, but nothing compares to that game and the subsequent winning of the gold medal. I still get goosebumps thinking about it.Comment
