    Sports room question: building lockers

Anyone here build lockers for their sports room? Looking to build two for displaying my own baseball stuff from Braves fantasy camp and my Murph GU collection.

    Any advice/insight is appreciated!

    Thanks!

There are a few threads on this you will find if you do a word search. I followed some advice I saw and picked up a shelving unit at Wal Mart for $40 or something like that (very inexpensive). I picked up a a couple sheets of acrylic at Lowes for around $50. I chose Lowes because they will cut down the acrylic for you. I bought some brackets and drilled them into place. The acylic stays closed with black velcro tabs. I added a remote control light from Amazon.

I drilled a couple hangers into the top of the display because I thought it provided a cleaner presentation. Finally, I added a couple custom placards to give it a "museum" feel. Printed by Mpix on thick stock with a metallic effect that doesn't really come through in the photo.

The end result is something that I think looks like a quality, almost custom, piece for around $100. Hard to beat that. I could have easily dropped $500+ for something fancy.

Esquire, thanks for sharing that! Much easier than trying to build a true-to-form locker!!!

How tall is that unit with the Gwynn items?

    Murph -

They're about 66" tall. I have a bunch I have set up in my basement as 'Locker Displays'.

I thought mine was more like 72", but can measure it tonight if the height could be an issue for you.

Very cool guys... Six feet would be perfect!

Xpress you just have the shelving units without the plexiglass?

Do you know if they come in a natural wood tone?

This is a BIG solution to my locker building dilemma... Thanks again!!!
