    Jose Altuve Game Bat

So apparently his bat is now selling for $450! Last year at the stadium it was $350. 2 years ago during his short rookie season it was $150. I am glad I got one of the rookie season bats with MLB Authentication! Crazy how much they are now.

Wow! That's a lot of money for a Jose Altuve bat. I love Altuve, but even I think such prices are ridiculous. Part of the issue is probably that the Astros have very few bona fide stars on their team, so that makes the prices of those who do well even more inflated. I bet the amount charged will drop, as Houston develops more talent that would be classified under the "superstar" category.

Bagwell bats don't even go for $450 anymore. Yet the 'Stros need to market somebody as a star, especially given the team's recent struggles.

Like anything else in this hobby time will tell if $450 is worth it. For any player whether it be Mike Trout, Harper, or even Altuve it is a risk to buy at high prices if your looking to make a buck on the bat down the road. All it takes is a few injuries and those items will be found in the bargain bucket for $75 a pop. Look at Matt Kemp 2 years ago the guy was almost a 40/40 guy and know after a couple of surgeries has warning track power. Maybe that will change but watching his at bats this year, it won't anytime soon.

It is odd the pricing on items there at times. Man, I love Altuve but even at $400 I would be tempted to sell the Rookie bat I have and it was even broken on a single against the Dodgers.

Another interesting piece that is high priced: They are selling game used Champagne bottles from the 05 NLCS win to go to the World Series for $500!!! I bought one a year or 2 ago for $200. I am glad I got that when I did as well.
