Hi all wanted to get everyone's opinion of this item

Its currently been listed twice on ebay

I'm watching it but don't intend on bidding on it

Does everyone think its authentic Varitek GU jersey from 2004?

I am surprised there is no "C" on it

That size tag looks too crisp for a game used jersey. It it had any use the size tag and for that matter year tag should show some wear. At best I think it could be a team issued jersey.

While I haven't looked at the item in question, your assumption that there should be a "C" on it is incorrect.

Varitek signed a contract extension in December 2004, and on the same day was made a captain. The "C" hence would be from the 2005 season onward.
