Thoughts on this Flutie?

Description says sewn on numbers. Was there such a thing in the 80's when Flutie played for New England? I have only seen screened on numbers for the Pat's up until 1994 or 1995. Maybe there was a season or 2 when they sewed the numbers on?

Where in the item description does it say that this is a game used jersey? The auction ad states that PSI sells GU jerseys, but nowhere (that I can find) does the auction specifically state that this jersey was worn by Flutie during a game - it just states that it's an authentic NE patriots road jersey. Check out the sellers auction for a 1990 Falcons jersey where the item title and description state that the jersey is game used.

Size 38 wouldn't be too wrong for Flutie. I've met him a few times and he is not a large man. Also..the cut of some NFL jerseys don't always match the tagging. I have a Seahawks, size 40 and I can wear it, yet I typcially wear size 46.

I agree, some jerseys fit on the larger size, however, I'm not familiar with Flutie ever wearing a size 38 jersey. I've seen other Flutie's in auctions over the last few years, and don't ever remember them being size 38. Likewise, when has any Forum reader seen a Flutie era Russell jersey in size 38? Granted he's 5'10", 180 LB., but size 38?

If a collector is comfortable with owning a size 38 Flutie, God love 'em! I have a friend who has a great looking Mike Schmidt 1989 jersey size 40 if anyone has interest!

this jersey is not even his , he was playing for the patriots as his last NFL season in 1989 then played for CFL from 1990 to 1997 then went back to NFL in 1998...
so my proof is , NFL teams started to wear NFL shield patch on neckline in 1991 season to present
PLUS patriots worn sand knit then champion in 80s
this jersey culd be added numbers n letters, more likey added fluite on back
end of story

I just got a reply from the seller. He does not claim it is game used, my mistake. that is what he usually sells. I wonder if the high bidder is confused too, it's up over $300.
