David Cone game used Yankees jersey????

I recently bought this jersey from Steiner as a 1993 Gerald Williams game used jersey. After I received it, I noticed that on the right sleeve, the number 7 and armband were removed. I know that they wore that in honor of Mickey Mantle in 1995 so I figure this jersey did not belong to Williams. The jersey has a ton of use and the number 36 is at least the third number stitched to the jersey. After taking all of this into consideration, I'm thinking that this is one of Cones first jerseys as a Yankee. He came over in the 1995 trade and they slapped #36 on this 1993 jersey. Cone was with the Yankees through 2000 so I dont think this jersey was used after that.

What do you guys think, did I get a steal? I think that Steiner doesnt know the history of a lot of stuff that they have/had.
