Moose skowron 1967 angels #14 jersey

Does anybody know if Moose Skowron cut the bottom of his jerseys in 1967 when he played for the Angels?

Thumbs up Re: Moose skowron 1967 angels #14 jersey

I've owned, in the past, Yankees and White Sox flannels of Moose...neither had the tail trimmed.

If the year/NIT are removed in the cutoff, I wouldn't go anywhere near it!

The same trick was used over 35 years ago with 1968 and 1970 Astors Shooting Star flannels of Denis Menke, with the tail coveniently cut just below the Wilson tag, and the jerseys being offered as Eddie Mathews gamers (he was with Houston in 1967). Both wore #11 in Houston.

I wish I would have seen the photo sooner, as this is nothing like the jerseys I described in my first post. The year and size tags are, indeed, present; Skowron was only with the Angels in 1967 and their only #14 that year, and the trim here looks like legitimate player tailoring, and not an aftermarket attempt to remove vital information. I'd say go for it.

Thanks Dave, but doesnt the fraying look too new to be on a 1967 jersey?

Cool Re: Moose skowron 1967 angels #14 jersey

The jersey is vintage...I'd have to have the item in hand to discuss the tail cut fraying. Still, Skowron was the only #14 with the Angels in the 1967 regular season. I'm not sure who else it could be.
