Mike Piazza X
Recently picked this up and can't figure why there's an X on both the barrel and knob, I've been looking everywhere and have yet to see another like this. Why would Mike put an X on a batting practice bat? Bat has a small, less than an inch, handle crack.
Bat is the same length as Mike's Signature Mizuno from 99, same with the circumference and weight.
Any ideas what the X signifies?

Re: Mike Piazza X
Could be for any number of reasons. It appears it's 33oz? Could be heavier than his gamers and didn't want the bat boy bringing it out during the game. Also could've been used by someone else due to the heavy use on the right barrel. I'm no Piazza expert though.

Re: Mike Piazza X
33 oz is the regular weight on Piazza Rawlings bats.
I 've never seen an Piazza bp or game used bat with this "x" marking on it.

Re: Mike Piazza X
pretty sure piazza used rawlings for BP and mizuno gor games
that may account for the 33 oz
