I have yet to find a picture from that year of any Astros where the star is outlined in white...all the ones, including the pictures they are using have no white around the star

Another thing that has me worried is the tagging. Maybe I'm wrong, but the tagging appears to be minty fresh for a gamer that's 30 years old.

Up on eBay right now is a Baltimore Sun photo of Ryan in game action which is initially dated 7/5/82. You can see the star....no white outline. Maybe Mike Sharon or another Astros specialist can chime in, but I believe the white outline didn't appear on this style until the Astros began ordering from Goodman & Sons a couple of years later.

I remember hearing that Ryan always used Goodman & Sons uniforms despite what the team ordered and typically brought his own Astro uniforms. This could explain the jersey and the different outline on the star.

The Astros full rainbow jerseys of this era had a red outline around the star from 1975 to 1981. The white outline debuted in 1982 and lasted until 1986.

Does anyone know if it has been verified that Ryan only pitched in Goodman jerseys while with the Astros? I've heard that numerous times, but am unsure if it's just a repeated story or has been confirmed by Ryan himself.
