i just wanted to discuss an issue that's relevant to this thread about the alex rios jersey in historic's auction. here is the jersey i'm referring to:

in 2005, all of the jerseys sold by the jays came with mlb authentication. 2005 was the first year that mlb took over this authentication. previously, the jays had handled it and issued COAs when selling their game-issued and game-worn jerseys. the historic jersey comes with no mlb authentication/hologram. i suppose it's possible that rios or a team staffer removed the jersey from the clubhouse and provided it to whoever. however, that's the same scenario as non-steiner yankee shirts and non-meigray rangers shirts. possible but unlikely.

I personally hate historic auctions, very poor customer service, they are NOT customer focused and flat out lazy, in my opinion. However, I did get my Derrick Brooks 2005 game used Bucs jersey, i did MY research and found it was worn vs. Redkins in a great 36-35 Buccaneer win. i bought the game on dvd from a friend and HOT DAMN... I got a perfect VIDEO MATCH to the jersey with matching up to a yellow helmet mark.

Also, the jersye came with a LOA signed by Derrick brooks on brooks charity letterhead. Historic did NOT mention that it came with that LOA in the decription which probably could have gotten them more $$.

I called and emailed historic 4 times a piece inquiring about the brooks jersey and HAD NOT ONE RESPONSE, but that is the power of DOING YOUR OWN RESEARCH. Also, when i called last friday and asked "when was my item shipped?" The responded with "it will ship out in 3 days" I guess they ahd their records jacked up because DHL delivered the jersey 1 hour later.

Amazing how businesses can succeed in spite of themselves....
