Ripken jersey 1998

I was hoping to get some expert opinions on a 1998 Ripken Home jersey. I obtained this jersey with a LOA from Grey Flannel.
But this jersey of back number is high place.

And add to the fact the extra length will make the placement of the number look abnormally high.

To me something on the tagging looks off. Not sure if it is the 2 extra length font. Let me compare a few examples will post my findings.
