2013 GU Goal Assessment

As the year comes to a close I was curious to know if you accomplished what you wanted for 2013 in term of your hobby? What milestones did you reach, important purchases, hobby shift, building a display, etc. What goals will need to continued in 2014. Thanks advanced and Happy New Year to you too.

Well being new to the GU collecting hobby I was really trying to get all the main items for my Brewers GU collection.

Ended up acquiring:
GU 2013 Caleb Gindl cap(red style for piowarzy day or something)
GU 2013 Rickie Weeks Retro helmet.(I overpaid but I loved the damage on it)
GU baseball thrown by Gallardo in his 2010 final start.
GU 2011 base from Wrigley Field used in a Brewers win.(used all 9 innings)
GU 2011 line up card from a Brewers win at Miller Park vs. Cubs.

Nothing flashy but a nice start on a limited budget if you ask me. Hoping to add higher end bat in the next month and hopefully get a jersey soon to. Came up to I teams short of my goal, but hoping to get them soon.

I caught the game used bug earlier this year before the baseball season started and baseball cards weren't doing it for me anymore.

2013 was a pretty good year for adding to my Kurt Suzuki collection.

As for game issued/used memorabilia, I was able to add the following;
7 - Bats (4-A's #8, 2-Nats #24, 1-A's #22)
17 - Jerseys (11-A's #8, 4-Nats #24, 2-A's #22)
1 - Baseball (Hawaii Winter League ball. Kurt threw out the ceremonial first pitch prior to the game)
4 - Chest protectors (Athletics)
1 - Shin guards (Athletics)
1 - Ankle guard (Athletics)
1 - Minor league catchers gear (face mask, chest protector, shin guards)
1 - Batting helmet (2012 Oaks Throwback)
4 - Locker Nameplates (1-KC Royals visitors locker room, 3-Nationals)
1 - Duffel bag (Athletics)
2 - Lineup Cards (1-Athletics, 1-Nationals)

As for 2014, I am hoping to add more Washington Nationals memorabilia & look forward to adding a bunch of memorabilia from Kurt's new team, the Minnesota Twins.

My 1 goal was to get a gu chipper jones commerative baseball and I ended up getting two so it was a great year also added a game used baseball from the very last game I ever saw him play at Dodger stadium which was nice

My goal for 2013 was obtaining as many items as I could from local players
and items from our local indy league team the Lancaster Barnstormers....

I think that's it...Jankowski and Gallagher and Heisey are local guys (Gallagher also played for the Barnstormers for a few weeks) Pollok was a Barnstormer and Iggy Suarez played in the league..we have season tik in the front row by the visiting dugout so we are able to get broken bats quitte easily!
