    1916 to 1917 H & B BAT LABELING

I have the opportunity to purchase a 1916 to 1917 H&B game used bat which has the player's full name block letter stamped on the barrell, crack in the handle, bat boy nails, and dead wood. The center label is the typical dash-dot-dash (below the Hillerich & Bradsby label and above the Louisville, KY) for the 1916 to 1917 labeling period. However there does not apprear to be a dash-dot-dash above the Hillerich & Bradsby label and below the Louisville Slugger wording at the top of the label. Is there a possibility that the stamping of the dash-dot-dash was just missed?. I have another game bat of this labeling period which has the top dash-dot-dash very lightly stamped (not stamped as well as the bottom dash-dot-dash). Could this have been an in-between period when the label was switched from dash-dot-dash to 125 in this location? I would sure appreciate any opinions on this issue.

Can you post photos of the bat?

Always looking for vintage game used bats of Houston Buffs and Colt .45's players.

    Marcus,

The photos I have of the bat are too large for the forum. I am sending the photos to your email address.

    Thanks,

    Greg
