Unknown Syracuse Football Jersey

I picked up this #44 Syracuse Football Jersey on ebay a few years ago. I've always just assumed it was something a hardcore fan made for themselves, as (1) Joe Morris didn't wear 44 and played before Big East Football existed, (2) no "Morris" wore #44 during SU's tenure in the Big East, and (3) I picked it up for next to nothing and the seller didn't claim it to be anything special.

Anyone have any idea what the story with this jersey is?

The jersey is possibly from the syracuse university local store on marshall street.
Yes, its a nameplate added by previous owner and its a replica jersey.
syracuse football team worn champion brand uniform from 80s to late 90s and then they started to wear NIKE uniform from 1995 to current.
the big east logo started to put on syracuse jerseys in 1991 and then changed to ncaa flag big east patch in 1998.
