Re: Cleat question
I believe it's common for players cleats to say sample on them.
If you look at some of them on Ebay many will say that on the tongue.

Re: Cleat question
You will find most of the bigger name players will get deals from companies like Nike, a Reebok ect. Most of these cleats will say sample on the inside tag.
For the most part your young players, sub par players do not have deals with companies and have to use your regular run of the mill cleats.

Re: Cleat question
I have 2 pairs of Miguel Cabrera cleats, both Nike (2009 & 2010), and both say "PROMO SAMPLE" at the bottom of the sizing tag on the inside of the shoe. Hope this helps

Re: Cleat question
I think its more rare if they don't say SAMPLE, PROMO, PE, etc.........all game worn shoes I've seen/owned all had that on the tag. Granted all the shoes I've owned are Kobe Bryant and he has had his own shoe deal for his whole career, but even ones I see on ebay of non stars all have it.

Re: Cleat question
2/5 are rookie pairs ... so they were not stars/semi stars at the time.
