1950's red sox helmet in hunt's april auction

Hi all--I was the winning bidder of the 1950's red sox helmet in hunt's live auction of the johnny pesky collection last month; love the helmet and was wondering if anyone on the boards was the consignor of it; would love to chat with you about this wonderful relic if you are a member here; that being said, hope I find you--thanks!!!

Wouldn't this essentially defeat the purpose of consigning? I thought items get consigned to auction houses so the seller and buyer don't need to meet each other to complete the transaction.

In my opinion consigning is more about the seller not having to worry about any of the headaches of selling, such as listing, negotiating, shipping, etc. A lot of times those auctions reach potential buyers that one could not reach on their own.
