Help with a possible Ronnie Lott gamer
Picked this recently via a trade, but don't know too much about it. Because I'd didn't give up much it was worth any "risk" of having it just turned out to be issued and signed.
It lacks the NFL shield, but does show some good wear. It seems to style match to a few games with the cut and strange shaped numbers. However it seems a bit smaller cut that what Lott would wear.
Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Help with a possible Ronnie Lott gamer
Interesting jersey - pretty sure the shield was added in '91 so should have it since I think that was his first year with the Raiders. I think '91 was also the first year Wilson made the jerseys so possibly a '90 jersey. Might look to see if you can tell if the nameplate has been changed but that LOTT nameplate looks pretty legit.
I collect mostly 80's Raiders so this isn't exactly my "wheelhouse". I have not seen that Ripon label before.
Definitely worth some research
Good Luck,
JE

Sand knit macgregor did the a Raiders jerseys in 1990.
That jersey looks to be a home made jersey. One of many that has been offered by mad auctions via ebay and other auction sites.
"In 2001, Mitchell Schumacher of Brown Deer, Wis., pleaded guilty in Federal Court to defrauding collectors through the sale of sports memorabilia.
Schumacher, who operated MS Auctions, admitted to Federal prosecutors that he sold more then 70,000.00 worth of merchandise purported to be game used items that were nothing more then game model jerseys.
Schumacher admitted using a East Coast firm to authenticate many of the items to convince collectors of the legitimacy.
The primary merchandise sold were NBA jerseys, and most of Schumacher's auctions at that time had letters of authenticity from the leading authenticator of NBA jerseys."

Re: Help with a possible Ronnie Lott gamer
Well for the $80 roughly I have in can't say I'm either surprised or disappointed.
Still displays nice and I can only assume the signature it's authentic. It appears to me it is.
Wonder where the parts came from, because the name plate hasn't been changed but does seem authentic but all the stitching is the same. The cut of the jersey also seems familiar with Lotts sleeves, did Ripon produce Raiders jerseys at all?

Re: Help with a possible Ronnie Lott gamer
Not from the 2 years that Lott played for them or the few before.
It is a custom jersey with fabricated use and I do not know Lott's signature so I cannot comment on that.
If the signature is real then at least you have that. For 80.00 pending if the dig checks out you paid a fair price.
