Pirates Flannel on Ebay
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1969-PITTSBU...-/151338563708
The description says: "SUPER NICE QUALITY RAWLINGS HOME JERSEY FROM 1969 WITH ALL CORRECT TAGGING AND CHAIN STITCHED NAME. JERSEY HAS HAD NO ALTERATIONS OR NUMBER OR LETTER CHANGES. THIS ONE IS ALL ORIGINAL"
Two things don't look right to me. First, the number 5 is much larger than the number 1 on back. Second, what's left of the name in tail seems to end in "os" rather than "ez".
So, I check the Pirates roster for 1969, looking for a player who wore a uniform with the first digit "1" and name ending in "os" and guess what? Pedro Ramos wore #19 for the 1969 Pirates. Looking again at the name in tail, it does in fact look like "Ramos" and not at all like "Martinez."
So I'm thinking it is not all original, that the #5 was restored, and for that matter, restored incorrectly. Should've been restored to #19.
Thoughts?

I just took this photo of a Clemente jersey at the new Bucs Museum at PNC... Hope it serves as a good reference.

Not only the numbers, but the jersey has had the MLB 100th Anniversary patch removed, so it's not "all original" based on that, as well.

Did the Pirates wear the 1969 patch? I've never seen a photo, that I can recall. Can't picture their placement on the vest. A quick Google search was inconclusive.

Re: Pirates Flannel on Ebay
Looks like I stand corrected. I just scanned 1969 Pirates Getty Photos, and couldn't find a patch anywhere.
I also found this Getty photo of Pedro Ramos as a Pirate, but the image seems to be from spring training, not the regular season, as it's text implies on the website.
