    Can't help re Red Sox jersey traits (strip tagging etc) unfort. But having met Mo in the late '90's at the ballpark, he was a bulk in his playing days. 48 would be the smallest I would guess that he would have worn. The extra length tagging makes sense.

    That early in his career, a 48 +2" would likely have been sufficient for Mo. Keep in mind in the late 1980s and early 1990s uniform sizes were in the process of transition to those we're familiar with today. Also keep in mind that a notable slugger of size in Chicago, Frank Thomas, wore a 46 +2" his first few years with the Chisox. The red embroidery on the box tag I a good sign, also, as that was unique to 1991 Red Sox Wilson homes...previous years used navy blue embroidery.
