In honor of Jeter's upcoming retirement, I thought I'd share this. A contact from Ripken BB a few years ago found these two cards left over from a batch of cards from a 2007 Upper Deck insert issue that were sent to them for Cal to sign (Jeter had already signed). I love the "proof" card with the hole puch & written "sign here" notation, which is a cool inside look on how these projects are accomplished (I also have the marker that was sent by UD that they wanted Cal to use): It was given to me in appreciation for some work I had done for them:
