Jeters final hit ball

Jeter collected his final hit baseball today. MLB posted a picture of it on their Twitter. Anyone know what will happen to it? Whether it will be sold or given back to him.

I over heard the Red Sox game used guy talk to someone this morning at their store. It sounded like the yankees base coach might have taken yesterday's ball back. I asked him what happened and the guy said he can't talk about. So curious what that story is.

One would think........but he also didn't keep his last bat and hit or much from his final game at Yankee stadium. I feel a lot of these memorabilia pieces mean more to us as fans/collectors than the athletes themselves
