Re: Jose Abreu bat
I just don't get it. If I had the disposable income I would much rather drop it on some old items like Mantle, Ruth, Brett, Ryan, Mays, Aaron, Clemente and etc. The chances that these up and comers ever make the HOF or do anything significant is small. You're spending THOUSANDS on a 26 year old rookie of the year?
Here is a short list of some names that have something in common with Jose:
Hamelin
Karros
Berroa
Soto
Weiss
Horner
Sax
Strawberry
Imagine paying BIG BIG dollars for any of these guys. -
Re: Jose Abreu bat
Abreu is better than all of those players. If the Sox acquire some protection for him, say, Victor Martinez, Abreu will have an even better 2015.
Let's remember, just because someone is asking a certain price for something doesn't mean he'll get it.Comment

Re: Jose Abreu bat
I get that he's better. However he's also about to be 28 years old so no way he even makes it to the Hall of Fame. And if I remember correctly, one of his bats sold for around 8000 bucks earlier in the year.Comment

Plus listing those was just an example off the top of my head of some previous Rookies of the Year. It wasn't intended to compare.Comment

Re: Jose Abreu bat
A few more items popped up on mlb auctions. Can't believe a signed ball with ROY inscription is at $325.
