    Bat Display Case Dilemma

Why is it that higher quality multiple bat display cases (which are basically a large glass picture frame-$40, hinged to 4" deep rectangular wood framed tray-$60) are always in the $350-$600+ range? I prefer to display bats horizontally in a glass display case and to make one is fun. It usually ran me under $100 to make but I can't make them anymore. Looking on line for additional ones I find all quality cases to be way out of reach. I know that a good display enhances an item, but not at a 400% average mark-up.

I bought a jersey/bat display case for 150 but ended up selling the jersey. Flipped it sideways and added a few wall mountable and I think it came out ok. I had the brackets so didn't cost me anything extra, although they can be a bit pricey for what they are. Maybe more simple than you had in mind.

Unbelievable job!! What kind of clips did you use to hold the bats? What kind of wood backing did you use? Run through the making of it if you can. Amazing job. That's what I'm talking about ....!

The jersey display I bought was this:

The bracket hangers or bat racks I used were these:

They were like 20 each so they werent all that cheap but I already had them from a previous purchase.

I wasn't planning on moving the display and wasn't sure how well the display would hold that amount of weight so I was lazy/careful and just put a screw directly through the display and into the wall. I'm sure you could make or find cheaper brackets but I've been happy with them. UV protected acrylic door so I felt it was a decent choice.

    Re: Bat Display Case Dilemma

Didn't really make much of anything. I just took the hardware on back of case that hung it vertically and changed it to where I could hang it horizontally. Then screwed the bat racks/mounts through the display case backing and directly into the wall. I didn't put anything between the wall and the display for support since I went directly into the wall. I'm sure it could be done a better way but I just went with that.

So 150 for case and 120 for the bat racks/mounts or whatever you'd like to call them. I'm sure you could find cheaper or maybe even make them yourself but I like the ones I went with.

Great!! Displaying the item(s) is very important. Great job. We should be able to handle(help each other with) this aspect of the hobby after the hard part of getting the item. Thanks! again. Just throwing it on the wall isn't good enough.

Thank you Sir. They're releasing 9 SGA bobbleheads and 5 HOF bobbleheads this year so I will need to get another display. The bat display isn't dirt cheap but 290 is better than 400 or 600 at least.
